DUBLIN City Council has been given the green light to build almost 2km of flood defences at Clontarf. An Bord Pleanala has granted permission for the scheme, which will cost up to €14m.
The scheme is different from a proposal to build a series of mounds along
the promenade at Dollymount, which, residents claimed, would block views of
the sea. Those proposals were rejected by councillors last month.
