Seafield Singers

In September 1990. a small group of of people from the Clontarf area came together to sing - not to perform in public - but for the pure joy of it. However, they found that the more they practiced the more they improved (surprise, surprise!). The Choir now numbers sixty three members and gives two concerts each year in the Church of St. John the Baptist, Seafield Road, Clontarf (by kind Permission), one in the Spring and the other at Christmas. The proceeds from each concert are donate to a pre-selected charity and to date the amount raised exceeds £35,000.

The Choir was honoured with an invitation to combine with the East Cork Choral Union to perform the St. Matthew Passion by J.S.Bach in Cork on Saturday 6th of March and in Dublin on 20th of March 1999 in addition to giving the annual Christmas Concert  at the R.D.S (Royal Dublin Society) on 2nd December 1999 - the two concerts "Festival of Christmas Music" and "Concert of Music and Song" of course, took place as usual.

It is a very happy Choir where music is taken seriously but with a keen sense of enjoyment. If you feel you have a reasonable singing voice why not ring  4904226   for full details, you could be singing in our next concert!.
